WIndows 10 october 2018 update Surface Pro 4 display problems

Hi guys,

i just updated my Surface Pro 4 on the October Update through Windows Update. No problems installing it but now it looks like there are some problems to display parts of the shell correctly. I know dark mode file explorer is not perfect, but this is clearly having some problems. also 3 borders of every window are really thick while the top one is normal but.

Anyone having the same problem or has a suggestion what I can do to try and solve it?

The toggling of High Contrast mode mentioned in that other thread did the trick for me of fixing this exact problem.
