Windows 8.1 and whatsapp

After the wp8.1 update this morning my whatsapp notifications seems to be corrupted. I did uninstall and reboot the phone and reinstall again but I still have the same problem. It will not post the notifications. I have to enter the app to see them appear.

My friend who is using a Lumia 920 has got the same problem, and I'm using Lumia 720 and I do not have any notification problems with WhatsApp. Please write back if you come up with a solution

same here, l920, since 8.1 update, not getting any whatsapp notifications at all, no sound, no visual alert, only way i know is to open app, and then it will come through

happened for me too..but the problem was that the date and time for my device got messed up after the update. I set it correctly and restarted the phone. The notifications are coming since then..

go to settings > battery saver > swipe left > click on whatsapp, tick that

U cant get notification unless its enabled in the background

Ya why is it so only when u enable in background you get message from whatsapp no toast notification.

Notification settings give you the option of turning on Banners for mail, messages and other apps, so too Whatsapp. By default i think it's off.

I'm having the same annoying issue but only if I'm using data if I switch to wifi notifications arrive ok why is that? By the way I have a lumia 920

Will have to verify if the battery saver was the problem. I even have it running on battery saver mode.

Lerimer I'm facing the same issue. Notifications are only coming in WiFi. Enabling whatsapp to run in battery saving mode doesn't work either. I've also tried a soft reset

I thought it was my phone but the issue is general at least with lumia 920 user my sister has a 520 and it works ok

Just update this morning, my 920, no problems so far, have you tried to re-install whatsapp ?

I'm facing exactly the same issue, and it's not limited to whatsapp. Facebook messenger and wechat also experiencing the same problem. No toast notifications when using data (have to open it to receive new messages), but when using wifi, notifications work fine again.

Well I can for sure say that my WhatsApp notifications are coming in on LTE now. Been on the road since noon and so far so good. The only change that I did was enable the so to run on battery saver mode.

On my Lumia 620, whatsapp notifications are better then ever.
With wp8, most of the time they were delayed - most of the time only about 1-2, but sometimes up to 30 minutes! Since the 8.1 update, I receive every message including its notification instantly.

It seems that the problem is with the 920

I think so i fixed this problem. i had same problem and its because of data sense. change limit type to unlimited or none specifed and after you will start to get your all notifications again....
