Windows 8.1 update

I finally got my computer to allow me into the windows 8 store, when I try to update it to 8.1 it says I need to go into my pc settings and check for windows updates. I do that and then it says there aren't any updates, I go back to my store for the 8.1 and it continues to say the same thing. No clue what to do, I've tried pretty much everything. Thanks in advance

This is about getting your Windows 8 computer to upgrade to 8.1, right? When you open the store in the start screen, it should be the first thing you see on the left side. That is where is was in mine.

Yeah, I know that. I'm saying when I click on that to update it to 8.1 it says I have to go into my pc settings and update my computer settings and then I can update it to 8.1
I checked my pc settings, no available updates, so I went back to store and tried again. and it said the same thing about pc settings again.

Ok, go to Windows update, change the settings to update all Microsoft products and check for updates again. Hope that helps

Make sure your date and time are correct. Then go to Desktop > Charms > Settings > PC Info > Windows Update > Check for Updates. Do those updates, restart the computer and follow these same steps again. Keep doing this until there are no longer any updates available.

Once all updates are done, go to Start > Store > Update to Windows 8.1 Free (should be very large, and the first item you see as you open the store) > Download. This will only show up after you do all the normal Windows Updates.

After you have installed 8.1, go ahead and use the first steps I gave you to do Windows Updates again to get the latest version after 8.1.

This will work, I've set up hundreds of computers this same way at work. Cheers!

If updating your PC to win 8.1 go to control panel on the desktop, and hit windows update. It will be there. 8.1 update for PC is not in the store.
