Windows 8 support from microsoft

Is it true that support for Windows 8 has been stopped? I have a win 8 HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14.

Hi Welcome to Windows Central. Yes I believe support for W8 has stopped. Here's a 'How to' from WC that explains this and what you should do.
Microsoft ends support for Windows 8, asks users to upgrade to Windows 8.1 or 10 | Windows Central
The time for the free W10 upgrade has expired!
