Greetings!

As I previously posted somewhere, I owned Blackberry before purchasing my first Windows Phone. I immediately fell in love with Windows Phone, but there are some things that I miss from Blackberry...so I'm making a list in hopes of Microsoft (wishful thinking, LOL) or a 3rd party dev (most likely) to develop an app that could complete the task.

1. Notification Light: This is the #1 feature of BB that I miss the most! A simple notification light to let me know that I have a missed call or new message would be awesome!

2. Custom message tones: I know that ringtones can be customized, but message and email tones currently do not have any customization.
.
3. Power Touch Screen Button: I don't mind pressing the power/lock button, then sliding down the screen to power off/reset my phone.... actually I do! I need to be able to press one button to power off or restart my phone.

4. Security Browsing: It's a shame that Private/Incognito Browsing isn't available on IE10. I know some 3rd party browsers do have the option, but I would love to see it on the default browser.

5. Ability to change App Requirements: In BB, if you didn't want an app to access your location, owner information, or any other app requirement, you can click the option to not have it.

6. Ability to block calls. I believe the Ativ S may have this feature but some of the other devices don't.

7. Photo ID visible during call. Maybe it's just me, but I loved looking at the picture of the person who I was calling while on speaker phone. (Obviously, you can't view the photo while the phone is at your ear.) With WP, the photo is not present, just the name and a big block of space that should contain a photo...

8. No Notification sounds while in a phone call! Notification sounds (email, text, etc.) while you're on a call (especially a business or important call) are the craziest thing ever! My BB (or any other non-smartphone) never did this. This should be an easy software fix, just disable other sounds while the phone app is activated. It seems so simple, that I think the engineering team actually forgot to include this feature. :)

9. App World My World feature. Hopefully I'm just missing something, but when I enter the Store app, I don't see a list of all of my downloaded, uninstalled, re-installed apps. This would be helpful so that we can get a snapshot of apps we already installed without exiting to check the app list via the right of the Start screen. I also would like the ability to have an app as my favorite, and maybe a list of my Favorite apps.

Don't get me wrong, WP is a refreshing OS, it really did exceed my expectations (especially as a first time WP user). This is just the list of things I miss, but it doesn't mean that I will be returning to BB anytime soon! Stay tuned to my list of things I love about WP that I didn't have on my BB. Thanks for reading. :)

Hmm two things I really like are you're top 2, although I have never had a bb phone. Priority wise, I thought you could always just go into apps and remove location settings from being on, no? I am almost 100% sure of this. Also, Incognito, NO PROBLEM! Download Incognito Browser for your porn viewing pleasure (just kidding btw). Although it does suck that it isn't baked in the browser itself, still a solution exists, mind you it isn't as snappy but still very good. And notification sounds I dont think I've ever gotten that in calls. I believe they usually just make a *tick* noise and that's all when in a call or a very low sound for notification. It hasn't been a huge issue for me yet.

This is just me though. Hope I at least help reduce your list by 2 :).

You're right about turning location off from the settings but in BB you can choose which app you wanted to have location on. So lets say I wanted location on for my navigation app, but off for my eBay app, then I could do that. I tried the other 3rd party browsers but ended up going back to IE. As for the notification sound, I've had to apologize for the sounds during calls. The people on the other end hear them. It's quite embarrassing. Hopefully these options will be there soon. :)

Hmm, no no I meant you go into the app itself and remove location settings from being on. (for example, I hate Facebook having my location and these weather apps when I can just enter the cities I want. So I just remove location settings in the app). This way I have the locations working for other apps such as here maps :). But iunno about other apps, but ye this works great for me. As for incognito, don't get me wrong. I don't use it as my main browser. But sometimes when I don't want anything to trace my location or save cookies on my phone, I use it. But that's it :P. As for calls :S I hope so. It is embarrassing lol.

oh yes I see what you mean. Some apps have that option. Other apps, like the eBay app doesn't. Oh well. LOL ;-)
