Greetings!
As I previously posted somewhere, I owned Blackberry before purchasing my first Windows Phone. I immediately fell in love with Windows Phone, but there are some things that I miss from Blackberry...so I'm making a list in hopes of Microsoft (wishful thinking, LOL) or a 3rd party dev (most likely) to develop an app that could complete the task.
1. Notification Light: This is the #1 feature of BB that I miss the most! A simple notification light to let me know that I have a missed call or new message would be awesome!
2. Custom message tones: I know that ringtones can be customized, but message and email tones currently do not have any customization.
.
3. Power Touch Screen Button: I don't mind pressing the power/lock button, then sliding down the screen to power off/reset my phone.... actually I do! I need to be able to press one button to power off or restart my phone.
4. Security Browsing: It's a shame that Private/Incognito Browsing isn't available on IE10. I know some 3rd party browsers do have the option, but I would love to see it on the default browser.
5. Ability to change App Requirements: In BB, if you didn't want an app to access your location, owner information, or any other app requirement, you can click the option to not have it.
6. Ability to block calls. I believe the Ativ S may have this feature but some of the other devices don't.
7. Photo ID visible during call. Maybe it's just me, but I loved looking at the picture of the person who I was calling while on speaker phone. (Obviously, you can't view the photo while the phone is at your ear.) With WP, the photo is not present, just the name and a big block of space that should contain a photo...
8. No Notification sounds while in a phone call! Notification sounds (email, text, etc.) while you're on a call (especially a business or important call) are the craziest thing ever! My BB (or any other non-smartphone) never did this. This should be an easy software fix, just disable other sounds while the phone app is activated. It seems so simple, that I think the engineering team actually forgot to include this feature.
9. App World My World feature. Hopefully I'm just missing something, but when I enter the Store app, I don't see a list of all of my downloaded, uninstalled, re-installed apps. This would be helpful so that we can get a snapshot of apps we already installed without exiting to check the app list via the right of the Start screen. I also would like the ability to have an app as my favorite, and maybe a list of my Favorite apps.
Don't get me wrong, WP is a refreshing OS, it really did exceed my expectations (especially as a first time WP user). This is just the list of things I miss, but it doesn't mean that I will be returning to BB anytime soon! Stay tuned to my list of things I love about WP that I didn't have on my BB. Thanks for reading.
