When are you guys going to release universal app? The current app runs terribly slow on Windows 10 mobile I'm using Lumia 930 and the app for PC it's just not very good at all tbh. Please bring a universal app soon.

Been a while since it has been mentioned. Would have expected it to have been released by now with Windows 10 on PC and Mobile preview going well.

According to another thread, they are looking for another dev due to complications.
If they have an API for Windowscentral.com they should just give a few people like me in the community access, then we could make a universal app from a users perspective which usually ends up much better quality and feature complete than an app made by a non-user (Not a domain expert) developer who is just doing it for the money. When there's an API to work with all the hard work is already done, it's basically just slapping a fresh UI on top and basic logic. To be honest, I would have expected Windows Central to be the first app in the store. Microsoft should even help with it considering the good press that this site gives them.

Windows Central has to keep it to official channels. It'd be a lot of effort to set up a team of developers from the community to build an application that may or may not be up to scratch. Also, Microsoft can't be affiliated with Windows Central (this site isn't sponsored at all by Microsoft) and even if they could I'd rather they focus on other things instead of devoting developers to making an application.

I'd be on board with this endeavor. It would be a cool project.

Edit: I maybe using the Android app on my tablet, but I should check if there is one for Windows 10 proper.

Edit #2: if there is no windows 8/10 version available, now would be a good time to roll one out. I wanna help!

Edit #3: it turns out there is a Windows 8/10 app for Windows Central. Awaiting it to download now on my desktop... nevermind about edit #2 now... crisis averted. The description of the app lists that work is being done to universal-ize the application.

Something is definitely not right. I think that Jay has left. Surprised that they didn't get Rudy to do it. They bug up his apps ao much, and rightfully so, that you would think he could knock one up. I need landscape mode back!

The emails no longer open the app either.
