Windows Hello checking face twice

Whenever I wake my Surface up from hibernation, it checks my face on a blue background, says "Hello Phil Knall", then leads the lockscreen background photo and does the whole thing again. Is anyone else seeing this behaviour? It only adds a second or two, but makes me wonder.
