Windows Hello Facial Recognition

Good Morning,
I am using a Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 with the Snapdragon Elite chip. Overall I am very happy with it. There is one interesting thing that has apparently happened to all Windows 11 laptops using Windows Hello with Facial Recognition to log into the system. Some months ago, I believe that Microsoft took away some of the functionality of Facial Recognition apparently in an effort to improve security. Admittedly, this is a very small issue, but it is a tad frustrating. I have updated drivers, turned off facial recognition and rebooted and started it again. Facial recognition will work if the lighting is absolutely perfect, which it very rarely is. I'm just wondering if anyone has run into this and perhaps found a workaround. Other than using and external camera, which would sort of defeat the use of a laptop.

Thanks for any thoughts. Maybe there is a way to get Microsoft to restore some of the former functionality of the Windows Hello Facial Recognition.
