Windows Hello no longer working with Surface Book

I am having this weird problem that just started yesterday for absolutely no reason at all. Windows Hello recognizes me then immediately asks me for my pin, once i type the pin then i can log in. HuH?? WTF? I didnt change any settings and i dont even know of any settings that you must authenticate with your face AND pin to log in. I dont know how to fix this or turn this off.

tried a soft reset? Disabling hello and then enabling it again?

Ugh. This worries me. I've been having issues with Hello sometimes just deciding not to recognize me lately for no apparent reason (lighting is good/same as usual, etc).

Are you still on an insider build or are you back to the production version?

This sounds like an entirely different issue than the one the OP is having.

I completely removed Windows Hello and removed the pin, then i set everything up again. It seems to be working fine now. That was a weird bug that i have never seen before. It was basically like 2-fac authentication, but that is not a setting it just happened. Biometrics + PIN...weird

The fix of turning off PIN and Hello, restarting, and turning them back on worked for me as well. Windows Hello stopped working on my Surface Book in September, too. Strange.
