I have two Windows Phones, a Nokia 521 and 635 both on the T-Mobile net work.
Because the 521 was not my primary phone I registered as a Insider using Slow Track. I was somewhat surprised to discover the update did not look anything like what has been described for the Windows 10 upgrade. I looks much like what I know Denim to have.
But in fact the "About Phone" info screen indicates that the phone is running Windows 8,1 Cyan with O.S version 8.10.14219.341.Firmware version 3058.50000.1439.0042
Yet the main Microsoft page for available Lumia updates tell me the latest version available is O.S. 8.10.12400.899 Firmware 3058.50000.1439.0042 for T-Mobile
I have read that one must go through the Denim update before Windows 10 can be installed
Yet Microsoft or perhaps better, T-Mobile seems to be delaying the Denim update until the last possible moment.
Of all the features I am looking for in updates the Folder feature in the Start Screen is the one I am most looking forward to.
I do know that Denim update is on the AT & T 635 It is also available on Sprint
I also remember that Microsoft has stated that they might bypass the cell carriers and install needed updates on their own.
The long-shot of this is to know if it is safe to install the Windows Insider Slow Track on my Nokia 635 which is my primary phone.
What do the real experts here think about this?
I would really like to have Folders in my Start Screen soon.
Thanks
