im trying to use Windows Media Player to sync my music across to the phone and the program simply doesn't find my phone. I've unlocked the phone so i can see the files under window explorer, restarted the program and phone, clicked refresh devices on the program and even changed usb ports.

Any help is much appreciated.

Okay, if WMP doesn't work, you'll have to use the Windows Phone App Sync Tool (thingy) from windowsphone.com.

Make sure that your music and playlists (actually, you'll need playlists) are in your Music library (i.e. you can see them from WMP).
In the meantime, check if your drivers are installed correctly. If you're on Windows 7, the phone should automatically open a window with its picture on it.
