Pulling my hair out. Picked up a Mi A1 which for the price is a great phone.

OneDrive app only caches files to hidden cache. Groove app does the same (and no way to get it to SD card). Copied all music to SD card manually, but now photos app picks up art in those folders.

If I use .nomedia file for Music (to stop it being scanned for images). Then music is no longer scanned...

Profile pictures show in Outlook but not in Contacts (but rest of contact info there).

No way to sync calendar events with stock app?

Ready to throw it in the bin, but guess I need to perciviere....

The Outlook App on Android is basically useless to me.

Blackberry Hub solves many issue and allows you to disable a lot of the Google Clutter[SUP]TM[/SUP]. Have a look here on AC: https://forums.androidcentral.com/a...when-removing-google-account.html#post6187479

That's a targeted post, but maybe read the whole thread to get more context. Blackberry Hub can be had on non-BB devices and will really tighten up your integration of Microsoft Services, IMHO.

You say Photos app is picking up thumbnails in music. But which Photo App? Microsoft's? Don't like it and remove it from my PCs. I'd never try it on a phone. It's a horribly rabid over-indexer. That's why I suspect you mean MSFT's. Don't like Google's Photo App either. I've reverted to using a 3rd party Gallery named Simple Gallery. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.gallery It might serve for you and you can disable any others.

For me, OneDrive does best when I manually sync what I want to it. I usually do this on PC in a browser. I suppose you could do the same in Browser on your phone? Again, it over-indexes. Honestly I don;t need that much in the cloud so YMMV.

Good Luck.

OK, today I connected as exchange using m.hotmail.com and it worked... for the calendar, but nothing else (no contacts)... I then deleted and mucked around, readded and nothing at all now.

I can see my calendars to select, but the actual events do not appear in any app...
