Windows Phone 10 to 8.1, how can I go back?

Windows Phone 10 to 8.1

I have a Lumia 1520 running Win10 build 10549. I want to take it back to Windows 8.1
How do I do that?

Download the Windows Device Recovery Tool - http://download-fds.webapps.microso...covery/WindowsDeviceRecoveryToolInstaller.exe
Install it, connect the phone to the computer, then follow the in-app instructions. Download time will depend on your connection speed, 8.1 ROMs are less than 2GB. Flashing it will take you 5 minutes or less and will leave you with an untouched Windows Phone 8.1 installation. (You will have to go through device setup/activation again).

When does it happen? If it happens half-way through flashing, maybe your cable is at fault.
