Windows Phone 8.1 - audio equalizer via Bluetooth headset

Hey guys,

So I recently sold my Lumia 920 to my friend. It's running Windows Phone 8.1 Update and he has a Bluetooth headset. Now, I remember that when I connected my headphones to the headset jack, I could set the equalizer settings.

He can't seem to do this via a Bluetooth headset. Any reason for this limitation, and any way around it?

Nope. Has to be wired in order to make changes. Same with my 1020.

Same with my Lumia 930. Is this a software or a hardware limitation?
