Windows phone 8.1 downgrade issue

Do I need to to keep the phone unlocked while downgrading to WP 8 using Nokia Software Recovery tool..?

When the tool is downloading the package you don't need to keep it unlocked but you should keep it plugged in. The phone will automatically go into flashing mode when the download and package hash checks are done

Man I've been trying a few days to do mine and it keeps saying it can't find the software for my 1020.
