Windows * Phone Update

[WPCentral Question]

I just downloaded the latest up dates for my Nokia Lumina 620.
Although I had Wi-Fi on and was connected, the updated downloaded over mobile data.
I can't find any setting to prevent this for Windows updates (I believe one exists for apps).
Is there a setting for this? if not it is totally ridiculous and a major shortcoming of the phone.

Settings -> phone update -> uncheck "use mobile connection if allowed". Not sure about the correct wording though, but I'm certain you'll get the picture.

Thanks for the reply dKp1977. The only option under phone updates is: "Automatically download updates if my data settings allow". I think this means if either Wi-Fi or mobile data is on. I think have a suspicion that these updates were changed by the last updates.

Nah, that's the setting I was referring to. Not sure why it's downloading using your mobile data though. What you could do is switch to Airplane Mode and turn WiFi back on, then download the update.

Yes I could try that, or try to remember to switch mobile data off before downloading. Either way it is a pain and is something that should be fixed, my last android phone had a setting that prevented updates via mobile data.
