Hi guys,

I just got a nokia lumia 920...loving it...had a couple of user questions below if anyone can help....

1. If a contact has 2 mobile numbers and you want to send a text to one of them. Is there a way to choose which number the text is going to?
2.When you click the search button in the call history registry, can it be configured to search your contact list as opposed to your call history. It seems a longer distance to have to tap the contacts list button and then the search button to call someone that isn't in your call history.

Thanks

Hi,

1. Yes, when you search for a contact in a new message it will show you all the numbers related to that contact and you can choose the right one.

2. No, you cant. As you said you have to click on the People Icon beside search and there you will find a search icon. An extra tap is required.
Use third party apps like Rap Dialer which is very good as such quick methods.

In answer to #1, you can either link the contact's two or more People Hub entries. Designate the two mobile numbers as "Mobile" and "mobile 2." I think you might be able to choose which number to text after you do that. I might be wrong, though, and it might just automatically choose "mobile."

Yes Metalchick, It automatically chooses mobile one. It seems the only way you get to choose what number you text to is of you go through the new message icon. If you try clicking on a contact and clicking on text, it automatically chooses mobile 1 for you...odd.

If you start a new message and enter the person's name it defaults to mobile 1 but if you click the plus button to the right of the search bar and add the person there you can pick any of the numbers
If you're replying to a text you can click the switch button (two arrows) at the bottom of the screen and pick another number
I hope that helps :)
