Sok so.. i have windows 10, technical preview 10536.1004 ready to be downloaded still.. is there any other way other than hard resetting my phone to get the latest build 10581?

You have two choices. You can either install the build that is waiting, then upgrade from there, or you can hard reset. Hard path either way.

Depends on if you are on the slow ring or the fast ring which build you get
