Windows Vista and Windows Phone 8

so i recently acquired a Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8, but my PC has windows vista, and i was trying to put my itunes music on my new Lumia, but when i follow the steps the windows phone website gives me and the youtube videos from nokia, my PC does not detect my phone. when i plugged it to my PC, nothing about drivers installed for it popped up. or anything of that sort. so this driver need and so forth have me very puzzled. drivers usually install when a new device is plugged in right? well not for this PC. im not sure if there is certain settings in the phone for it to work but can someone please help? thank you.

PS: im not tooo tech savvy but i know my way around, please keep it simple.

Do you have an active internet connection when you connect your lumia 920 ? Also make sure you have the latest service pack 2 installed from windows updates. I wish 920 had sd card slot. Though as Himanshu said you should download windows phone app for desktop and see.
