Updates that were already published at the End of Life last summer remain available for the time being. New updates/patches since then are not available without a specific extended support contract.
I'd seriously think about getting a value priced copy of Windows 7 and then leaping to 10 for free.
Or maybe you need new hardware? They sell Win 7 on new machines still as some hate 8...
It really is not cool to keep running XP at this point. Them evil hackerz know they can crack away at you. The internet has evolved beyond what you are using. If you fear some programs you own won't work, there is always compatibility mode to get them running.
If it is simply $$$ and you won't spend a penny... Get a Linux install. They are plentiful, modern and free baby!!!
Linux can be frustrating and time consuming, but much of it is a learning curve. Once you familiarize yourself with Linux's terminal commands and UI styles, it becomes much more usable.
