Windows Central Question
My relatively new WindowsPhone Lumia 640 LTE keeps losing wifi. Generally this happens after I've taken the phone out, away from our router, then upon return, there is not wifi signal. Going to settings-wifi does not allow one to reconnect. It is necessary to power down, then power back on for the connection to be restablished. This happens several times a day. Turning Airplane Mode on and then off about 10 seconds later will not trigger the problem. I've done a factory reset and this did not affect the problem--still loses wifi after being out. We have another Windows Phone in the home (a Lumia 520) that does not have this problem, nor do any of the other 3 wifi devices in the home. I've called customer support twice and their only advice is that if a reset doesn't fix, I should mail the phone in and they would try to get it back to me in a couple of weeks. (Not easy going w/o one's cell phone for this period these days.) Does anyone else have any ideas about a possible fix (or even a good explanation about the cause.) Thanks in advance for any help.
