WM10 auto interface?

I have a new VW and it's just so lame that it can't interface with my WM10 phone. Microsoft, in typical fashion, introduced their own auto interface which went nowhere, and watched Android and Apple swallow another new market. But what would stop someone from developing an Android Auto client for WM10? Is the specification unavailable?

German cars are tipically droid and istuff linked due to commercial patherships. You can however always link your Lumia BT music and calls to your car.
Last Groove update should give artist and song name on display too

I get that with my BLU. But I want the big stuff, like map app on dashboard. MS needs to get into this game with W10 or it's over.
