hi - so i'm seeing this issue where I put the tablet into the dock and it goes to sleep - but then after a few hours - I assume when its going into hibernate, it just shows the Surface screen and the fan is going and it's hot.

I then need to hold down the power button to reset the surface

has anyone else seen this behavior - should I roll back to windows 8?

ok - so after troubleshooting this more, it appears that if I disconnect the mini-display port on the back of the dock, I don't see the problem. I've now been reading posts elsewhere that seem to imply that there is either

  • an inherent problem with the design / manufacture of the docking station's mini Display port capability because if you connect the same MdP cable to the tablet you dont see the issue
  • a firmware / driver issue with it
  • a batch of 'faulty' ones

MS is sending me another dock in the mail because they seem to think it's the third of those - but I am not convinced

I am using an apple mini display port to Dual-Link DVI active adapter to drive a Yamakasi Catleap monitor -
