I hope it's a sign they are selling down their inventory in expectation of getting new WP7 Mango phones in soon!

I'm going to have to call verizon. I ordered one Sunday for a higher price. Hopefully they will help me out.

When I ordered mine it was 69.99. I talked to them and they credited the $20 to my bill. So far this is the best 50 dollar phone I've ever seen.

Lets hope this means verizon is getting ready for new devices although I think it is more to compete with the focus and other wp7 phones on other carriers. Verizon used to have lots of wp devices back in the day now they have nothing. I hope they get atleast one of the new rumored mango devices.

I just returned my BB 9930 and got the Trophy for $49, I really can't complain since I cut $200 off and Mango is coming which from what I have read will truly enhance the OS even more.

I also gave the Bold 9930 a chance and while it was a huge improvement over the older BBs in terms of speed and web browsing capability, it wasn't enough to make me want to keep the phone. I've found with WP7, you can get a whole lot more done without having to go through a million menus like on the BlackBerries.

I just started to put my WP7 through its paces and I have to say WOW, I am really impressed. My co-worker looked at it today and both he and his wife are Android users and the first thing he said was how easy it was to use. Its simple, fluid and responsive. I am learning how to move the tiles and do things (why read the book when you can learn as you go).

Next step is of course to upgrade memory to 32GB I can truly see me actually keeping this phone for quite a while. I look forward to Mango.

Just for the record, it doesn't seem the trophy itself is on sale. (Checked the website without signing in in different zip codes, stuff like that.) In our own inventory the price is about $150.

However, there are several customer-aimed sales campaigns going on right now, which would give people $100 off a phone in some cases. I don't think there's any way to get this sale for a person unless they're already pre-selected, and I don't know what triggers the sales, but it might shed some light as to why some people are seeing the phone for $50 or free.

My local Verizon stores knew nothing about the Trophy! I actually was teaching them things they didn't know. It doesn't look like the Trophy is getting much support from Verizon.

And unless something recently changed, I couldn't find any cases on Verizon's website.
