WP Store vs Windows store

Right now I'm a windows phone user and I'm considering getting a windows tablet (eyeing the Lumia 2520). I recently discovered that the windows phone store is not the same as the windows store (Didn't even know there were two different stores. Maybe better branding could make this less confusing). Before I commit I was wondering if someone could tell me what to expect with the windows store compared to the windows phone store.

Wp store has 250-275,000 apps

Windows has 150-160000 apps

Quite a bit of overlap which will increase with windows 8.1 and universal apps. but for now some apps are missing on either platform. For example watchespn is present on windows but not on windowsphone.

Like most tablet stores, it's obviously not as good as their phone counterpart. On one hand, a disadvantage is that you can't run a phone app on a tablet, BUT one advantage over other stores is that if the developer has OK'd the app being "better together" or "universal" (both are technically true, but the first is more true), then you can buy once, run everywhere.
