WP8 ported to WP7 devices

I would like to port WP 8 on my 2 year old WP 7 LG Optimus 7. If you can be kind to put links for WP8 on WP7 hardware, it would be great!

Interesting concept proven possible thanks to DFT's successful attempt at porting WP8 to the HTC HD7.
It would prove useful, as most apps only require 512MB of RAM, but it would require a complete kernel rewrite, as WP7 uses Windows CE while WP8 uses Windows NT, with the former allowing native code. Also, there's really no huge benefit for having WP8 on a WP7 device since most Xbox Live Games can't run on WP8 or will continuously crash. Same story with applications.

If possible, I would give it a try on my HTC Mozart (wp7) even if it would brick the device

Well then, let's pray for continued support for the dead mobile platform!

It would be easier to port WP8 to older HTC WP7 hardware since the taiwanese OEM had more open standards back in the day, explaining why the HD7 is the flagship device for WP homebrew development and hacking. Since the hardware is more locked down from the likes of Samsung and Nokia (although the latter seems more open due to full unlock capabilities for the L710), the process of actually getting WP8 to a WP7 device via hardware methods is MUCH more difficult, and that's not including the extremely risky method of flashing the software to the hardware's OS partition.
On the plus side, those of us using devices w/out root can still play witness to a small part of WP8 via the WP7.8 set of updates, both OS software and firmware. (Those with DIY custom ROM's like me can already use it, but getting the modifications to play well with the ROM is a tad difficult.)
