Xbox bitperfect playback for CDs and digital audio files

One issue that has plagued the Xbox since it's existence is the lack of bitperfect playback for Audio CDs and digital audio files. All Xbox consoles resample all audio to 48khz which results in the degradation of sound quality of 44.1khz sources. Why has Microsoft not added this feature yet after about 22 years now since the original Xbox? If Microsoft wants it's Xbox consoles to be the ultimate media consumption device as well as video game console, this feature needs to be added.

I personally upvote this and suggest sending this feedback to Microsoft directly on "Feedback Hub". Hoping that Microsoft consider this suggestion make changes to Xbox in next versions.

interesting, not really heard about this. does PS5 have it? guessing it might be a cost thing?

PS4 & PS5 can't play audio CDs.
