Xbox One Smartglass won't work with lumia 950xl

I have a new 950xl and even if I manually type in the ip adress of my xbox one on the smartglass app it won't detect my console.
Is this a known issue does anyone know how to fix it?

Are you on the Xbox app that came loaded on the phone? If so that's not the actual smart glass app and you need to go to the store and download the actual app. Hope this helps

why would you use the smartglass app when the XBOX App is right there for you pre-loaded on your 950XL?

Because the Xbox app runs like garbage compared o the one SmartGlass app for me
