Xbox Video lagging too much!

You are sure you really downloaded the file, yes? Streaming a 1080p video on a slower connection would explain the stuttering and general laggyness. But it should be totally smooth when playing directly from the device's internal storage. Which app have you used for playback? Maybe try a different one and see if there are significant differences in performance.

Just tried xVideo Player with the same result. Maybe 1,5 minut 120 Mb 1080p video is too much for 920. Could someone download the file from the link given in the first post and play it on theirs 920?

I don't have a 920, but my wife does. I'll try it some time this evening, when I'm back home from work. But 1080p should play fine and without any issues. 1.5 minutes and 120MB doesn't sound like 1080p to me, more like 720p. I could be wrong though.

Thanks in advance dKp1977! Waiting for info how your wife's 920 will deal with the video.

You're welcome. One last question though, which could make a difference: how much free storage is left on your 920?

A lot, around 25 G.

Okay, thank you. In this case it shouldn't have any impact on performance at all. :) Just wanted to make sure that your storage wasn't close to being full, which I've already seen cause drops in performance.

Just tested. I can't even download the file. The only thing what works is streaming (open). It's indeed laggy, but it looks to me as if it actually were recorded laggy.

It plays flawlessly on my PC. Could you download it on your computer and then put it on the phone?

Will do. But my wife is at work now and has taken her smartphone with her. I'll check when she gets home and report back tomorrow.

I've copied the file over to my wife's Lumia 920 and played it using the Xbox Video app (she's on WP 8.1 GDR 1 DP, but not the latest built). While it didn't play as smooth as on my Surface Pro, it didn't lag too much either. There was noticable frame skippnig every 15 or so seconds, but not as much to become annoying.

Hmmm, mine lags horribly. Maybe it's because the video has 60 fps... Is your wife's phone on 8.1 DP GDR1?

Strange. I'm after hard reset. Before had the sam problem with high quality videos. Well, gotta wait for Xbox Video/next OS update and check things out.
