I've been having dramas with my Lumia 920 the past month or so (various sensors playing up etc.). I went into my carrier's store where I picked up my device 21 months ago to see whether I could do anything about it. They checked their computers and said that Nokia Australia has a "forward ship" policy on the 920; essentially they will ship out a replacement immediately and when the replacement arrives I send them mine.
I don't think I could have hoped for a better scenario! Definitely sways me toward wanting to stick with another Lumia when my contract is up...
