    Thank you, although I do note that this application you mention costs $20 (albeit with a free trial lets you back up 20 SMS).

    Personally I prefer Microsoft Myphone which, for $20 less, can back up text messages and a little more. Of course, your archives will then sit in 'the cloud' rather than on a computer on your own desk. It's a matter of choice. Choice is good. Very good.

    That is what I use its a very nice free choice. Don't forget you can log in to the web site and view your sms and even print them out

    +1 for Microsoft MyPhone. Plus your pictures, music, and e-mail (unless you sync to an Exchange account) will also be backed up.
