The following are enhancements that I have working on my AT&T Fuze.

(1) Install the radio cab to get your FM back (GSM only) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427040

(2) Download a version of the .net compact framework that actually does something for you fuze http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347537 or https://forums.windowscentral.com/e...microsoft.com%2Fnet%2Fdownload&token=blJIv_gt

(3) Put your g sensor to work http://wmpoweruser.com/?tag=g-sensor

(4) Place a link to youtube in your \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder so you can launch the you tube application easily. The link is attached below.

(5) Remap the PTT button to something useful http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445498

(6) Enable large start menu in landscape mode. To Enable It In Landscape
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\EnlargeMenu\DisableLandscape = 0 (DWORD decimal)

(7) Install gyrator to flip those un-flippable progs. It only works when gyrator is running. http://gyrator.brins0.net/?page=downloads

(8) Upgrade to a cooked ROM. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_Cooked_WM6.1_ROMs You may need to install the Fuze keyboard fix in post 16 if the ROM you choose is engineered for the other layout. Also after installing a cooked ROM you may need to change connection settings to allow email, PIE, etc to work.

Go:Start>Settings>Connections>Manage existing connections>Proxy Settings and uncheck, "This network uses a proxy...".

Then go: Modem>Edit>Next And there the:

Access point name is wap.cingular
User name is WAP@CINGULAR.COM
Password is cingular1

(9) Download skyfire browser. The best browser supporting flash http://get.skyfire.com/

(10) Install wktask so you can see whats running in the title bar. It also has an excellent battery meter.

(11) Disable touchflo 3D,,,, just my opinion.

(12) Download beyondpod for the handheld http://www.codeplex.com/beyondpod or RSS Hub http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2311639 and itunes for the desktophttp://www.itunesos.com/itunes.htm All are free. Itunes allows you to easily search for and play podcasts on the desktop and beyond pod allows you to easily search for and play podcasts on the fuze. If I like ones I find with itunes I then search for the title threw beyondpod Or search for the feed link on podcast Alley http://www.podcastalley.com/index.php . Others like Juice 2.2 for the desktop http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/ If you dont like beyondpod then newsbreak is a pay alternative for the handheld http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/nw/nb_trial.php and Rss Hub is a free light version of news break.

(13) Download a version of TCPMP that works with WM 6.1. (Attached below) And then head on over to http://mobile.treobits.com/index.php?ind=shoutcast to start streaming free internet radio

(14) Install GPSTest to kick start your GPS before launching your gps programs. http://classic.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=24687&associateid=9

(15) Download smartlock because the built in screen and keyguard is not very useful http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539577

(16) Slap an egrip, screen protector, skin etc,,, something on the back of the fuze because the finish begins to wear off in the first week

(17) Get OEM HTC wired ear phones on ebay http://search.ebay.com/oem-headphon...sacatZQ2d1QQsaobfmtsZinsifQQsascsZ2QQsbrsrtZd since listening to music via bluetooth zaps the batteryspeedy quick! I personally prefer the $9.99 ones :) I got mine from ebay and they are perfect.

(18) Install an all black, true black, classis black tsk in your windows folder to save on battery life (file attached below).

(19) Download Pandora, see post 17. Pandora is a wonderful music stream that allows you to choose an artist and then listen to similar artists.

(20) Download a decent podcaster. See post 20.

(21) Install null keyboard nullkb for VGA to keep the keyboard from pooping up unneeded. See post 21.

(22) Install no sleep to keep the back light on while a call is in progress. The cab is in post 23.

(23) Prevent accidental Opera screen rotation. The problem is you slightly tip your phone and Opera rotates instantly. So then you tilt it back but it takes forever to rotate to where you want it. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=760969

(24) Enlarge the typing area in threaded sms, post 31 below.

Things I have not done.

(1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425627

(2) http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_Tweaks

Thanks to xda-developers for all the great resources.

amazing list - THANK YOU - you just saved me a ton of search time by providing the links to all the sites I had bookmarked to search on. This thread should be a sticky and required reading for all fuze owners

That was very comprehensive, James. There were a couple of items on there I hadn't looked into yet. Thanks!

As for disabling TouchFlo 3D... I will agree 100% that it helps the speed of the phone tremendously. I added the latest version of Spb Mobile Shell and Spb Pocket Plus...and it BLOWS AWAY TF3D. No lag... snappy... fast... more functionality... and I will totally purchase it when my free trial ends (but I have no idea when that is... I could not find the terms of the trial use). It looks amazing in the Fuze's VGA resolution, so pretty! :p

Just an FYI... for those tired of TF3D's lack of customization options, or system resource hogging.

Finding out what will and won't work if you disable TF3D is simple: Just uncheck the TouchFLO 3D box in Settings > Today > Items and try something else for awhile. If things no longer work to your satisfaction, just undo the changes you make and recheck the box TouchFLO 3D and you're back to where you started.

Most of you have probably already discovered this, but there's a user's manual in PDF format on the CD that is included with the device, and this user's manual goes into much greater detail about setting up your device than the printed material.

At least that's how it is with the Sprint Touch Pro.

Hey Phone Diva. I have the att flavor with the shiny diamond shaped back cover and on the angles that make contact with a surface all the shiny black finish has worn off. On about 4 or 5 spots, 1/16th of an inch by 1/8th I have dull dark gray instead of shiny black. I don't slide my phone across surfaces. I have a nutshell soft sued leather pouch case. There is no reason why it should have worn off so quickly. I wish I would have put something like an egrip on it on day 1.

Great thread..My experiences..

You're right, it is built into Opera.

FWIW, I did disable the Touchflo and I like it much better!

Wonderful info guys.. I have had the fuze now just over 10 days and haven't explored the options or the CD (blame it on work ..:(..). The list of apps looks great.

My personal experience with TouchFlo..Some times it's pleasent and sometimes you just can't figure what the heck it's doing (you end up rolling ur fingure everywhere on the screen - Don't know if the screen protector slows the response). Especially when browsing contacts!!! Just kills me :S..

Another thing i noticed - The springs are getting kinda loose on the device slider keyboard. I better get it checked out by ATT store ppl. *This would be the 2nd time - first instrument has a problem of heating and static*..

Great note @ the zoom functionality. I am going to try and disable TouchFlo.. rt now!

Cheers,
Ben

Okay - Now after doing this (TOUCHFLO off), any suggestions on HOW I can see the clock on the MAIN screen?!!!

You can install this cab to the internal memory then reset and you'll be good to go.
