Anybody know when the 1820, supposed successor to the 1020 super-camera phone is going to be announced? I was expecting it to be announced at MWC like the rumours said but it was not.

Uhh, I take it you're being sarcastic? If it was announced at MWC then it's pretty odd I can't find any info on it other than pre-MWC rumours.

There is no 1820, man. It was a fabricated rumor.

Sooo any ideas when the 1020 successor will be announced? Certainly there will be a successor to the 1020 one day.

Not for a while I'd say since the 1020 is relatively new.

8 months, how long is it usually between announcements?

Well I got a grand burning a hole in my pocket (litterally it got splashed with battery acid) so I really need the 1820 to go ahead and be released.

Oh its been longer than I thought.
But anyways, we can't say, I think Nokia has timed the refreshes with each new OS, so I can probably assume that a 1030 would appear sometime during the 8.1 run. (since they probably won't refresh all of the phones at once, like how they didn't release all the WP8's at once.
I would want to say yearly, but everything released so far is still part of the current generation, so it probably will be longer. There will be a successor, mark my words, but I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. But that's just my two cents.

Well, it doesn't matter because you might as well be asking for a Palm Pre 4 unless we get anything substantial evidence.

Looks like the event is for Samsung?:

Samsung ATIV SE Windows Phone destined for Verizon on April 18th, $599 off contract | Windows Phone Central

Funny how many people posted, 'Better buy the Icon, cause Verizon won't get another Windows phone until next year'. It was a short year ... LOL!!!

Verizon won't get another Nokia Windows Phone for a very long time. And that's what people said.

I am glad you are happy with your Icon. Since you are replying for all "people", I will specifically point out ... 4 weeks ago, you replied to someone who was not going to get the Icon, and wait for the 8.1 phones:

Hah, don't bank on an 8.1 device on Verizon in 8-10 weeks.

Fair enough... Enjoy your Samsung Windows Phone with all that brand new WP8.1 hardware.
