So I'm being a optimistic here and I think that the next flagship is going to be pretty epic. Microsoft has been pretty good lately with keeping things a secret and a surprise (band and hololens). Going by this somewhat loose pattern, I think we'll see something big for the next phone instead of just some spec upgrades, which are still pretty cool but not truly innovative. What do you guys think?

We'll see what they'll bring to the table at Mobile World Congress late next month.

The phones are developed in Finland whereas the other devices are developed at Redmond. While most the devices coming out of Redmond are kept secret the devices coming out of Finland (aka ex-Nokia) are often leaked. It may be that Microsoft has introduced more of a secrecy culture however I expect leaks. Having said that I expect a lot. This will have been developed from the ground up under Microsoft ownership so there will have been both ample time, resources and talent to produce something great.
