Hoping MS will still do the Lumia 850 this year?

MS really needs a competitor to phones like the Moto G, Alcatel One Touch, etc. Cheap, about $250 with a 1080p screen and good specs. Hopefully the 850 can be it.
A competitor for the Moto G would be 720p for ?179, in other words, the Lumia 640 and the 650 whenever it comes. For the 850 to make sense, it needs 1080p, 5-5,2", 2gb RAM and sd6xx for a price between ?299-399. The 830's downfall was that after a few months the 640 offered 100% of the performance for half the price at launch, design, qi and pureview weren't worth the difference to most people. The 850 needs to avoid this scenario or it will tank the second the 650 comes out with the same screen and cpu.

640 is $80-120 in the US, the Moto G is around $250, with much better specs and features, and severely outclasses the 640. I don't think they are in the same range.

I would have liked to see a 750 to compete with the Moto G, but that's cancelled. The 850 should at least compete with the OnePlus One\Zenphone 2 and not be drastically overpriced like the 830.

US prices for the 5xx and 6xx Lumias are always ridiculous when compared to the higher end Lumias if you compare with European prices, so they are almost certainly subsidised. Here, the 640 is ?179, just like last years Moto G, the new one is ?199 (the 1/8gb one). And from what I can see, it only has soc and camera over the 640, they are clearly direct competitors when comparing the same generation: Same screen size and resolution, same soc, same ram, same memory, same price range (except US where Lumia is much cheaper!) The 650 could easily catch up with the new soc, the 640xl's main and the 730's front camera. What other major hardware features am I missing?

I thought the Moto G had a 1080p screen. Must have heard incorrectly.
I'm hoping 850 will go well against the OnePlus phones then.
