Lumia 950 USB type C Question

Since the 950 & 950 XL are rumored to use USB type C, does this mean that the micro usb cables that I use now on my 1520 wont work with it?

Is USB type C a new form or does it just consist of faster speeds?

Any other extra information would be appreciated...

Type-C is incompatible with previous microUSB iterations.

I'm not sure on the actual tech specs.

So when you look at a mobile device that uses USB type c, the end that connects to the phone is what is new right? and the opposite end that connects to the power brick will be the same as it has always been, allowing it to connect to regular standard USB power bricks that are used by phones such as the iPhone 6 or Lumia 1520 now, and allow connectivity to USB ports on devices like the Surface Pro 3?

Or does this new USB type C mean that until the Surface & other laptops all start making it the standard port, I won't be able to connect my phone wired to my PC or Xbox One
