I'm going with the XL. Still rocking my 920 after almost 3 years. Back in the day I wanted to upgrade to the 1520 but I was still under contract and that ATT Next deal didn't sound good to me. So I'm going for the big guy this time. I'm even considering buying it from the Microsoft store so I won't get wrapped up in another 2 year contract.

Though I believe these are the last Nokia designed phones and they look great, I have on good authority that MS is working on a Atom powered Surface phone, that with the continuum feature will be far more useful overall for me. And hell... I've waited this long for a "flagship" windows phone, what's 6 months or so longer?

neither, as it would be a downgrade for a 1020 user.

I haven't decided which one yet. I want Qi charging, but don't want a case to get it. Even if it ends up being just a replacement back cover, who knows how long before they will be available. I'd need to try the XL before purchase...I have doubts that the screen size would be usable for me.

Anyway, I'll have plenty of time to decide. I have a feeling these two phones will be released with W10 Mobile in an unfinished state--I can deal with that on a PC, but not a phone--so, I'll be holding off on a purchase if that's the case.

Looking forward to the launch, though....

Yup agree ,it's ok to have unfinished OS on desktop but not on phone and keep on updating as MS goes along.
That's a wrong approach MS is taking if that's the direction they are going with WM builds.

Really? Does it have Qi, or does that require a case? Weight? Tell us more!
The standard back panel has contacts that correspond to contacts on the phone internals. If they are for wireless charging and more specifically Qi...I have no idea. Also, for weight, I'll have to remember when I am near a scale ;-)

Maybe in terms of Megapixels, but overall quality of Photos taken should definitely be better, considering that the 1520 & 930 arguably have the 1020 camera beaten.

I've had both a 5.2" screen (2014 Moto X) and 5.7" screen (Moto X Pure Edition) and have determined that the smaller of the two is about the sweet spot for me, so it'd be the Talkman without a doubt.

With a kitchen scale, that is in no way very precise, it showed under 200g.

If someone gets it working on Verizon, I may think later about the 950, but at this point, it just isn't compelling enough to give up my Icon without being 100% absolutely positively sure that it will work. That, and I don't have the spare change for the all-at-once outlay right now. The Icon is serving me well, and it will keep doing so until that time when I'm sure these things will work on the most arrogant cellular provider in the US, possibly the world.
