I think that wireless charging is a niche thing right now. It's not exactly efficient.

Maybe in the future it will be better. Though it would be nice to not have to worry about breaking micro-USB ports.

It would probably work just as well popping it in the microwave for a couple of minutes.

Off to try, back soon!

Ow!, Ow! Yikes the phone's hot.

Aw it doesn't work. :( Oh well, I tried. :)

Wait.. No USB ports? What about syncing stuff like videos (music videos, movies, etc)? WP7 is not set up to those wirelessly. What about OS updates/upgrades?

We won't have to worry about it for a while.

It was something someone mentioned as a generality when talking about the future. And then now everyone is running with it.

That can work to your advantage at times. When a company keeps getting asked about a feature that everyone is expecting, it put more pressure on them to deliver the feature for fear of the product being percieved as inadiquate. Everyone, even bean counters want to meet expectations. The thought of not meeting them can bring your perception down, even if the expectations aren't all that realistic at times

It would be nice to see all devices have wireless charging built in and be able to use the same charging pad. No more worrying about if you have the right cables. If your friend comes over and wants to charge his phone, no problem, just place it on the charger.

Thinking even further ahead, once many phones have wireless charging built in, places like airports and restaurants could have like charging stations built in to workstations or tables. Put your phone on the special pad, and it'll charge. No more pulling out cables or hunting for wall outlets.
