Hi there everybuddy!
My name is Lucas Pestana; I'm in Brazil on an unlocked Nokia Lumia 822 running WP8.1 DP, have plenty of memory (2 GB), and my phone has 16 GB of internal storage (extensible by adding an SD card), most of it already taken with lots and loads of apps (about 15 GB!).
On August 4 (Monday) I updated my phone OS to Windows[SUP]?[/SUP] Phone 8.1 Developer Preview "Update 1" (aka, "GDR1").
The update process was quite clumsy (more on that later), but after a whole night and half the morning leaving my phone do its thing, it finally came back to life -- featuring OS version 8.10.14147.180 (firmware revision number: 3051.40000.1352.0042) ... though not quite.
Since Update 1, some of the system or Microsoft's apps' own tiles and live tiles are not displaying properly, showing instead a greyed icon in the app list and a "blank", empty tile/square on the start screen with no icon inside. Please see the pictures below.
1. Apps with greyed, blank icons in app list (Calculator, Camera, Office, OneNote, People, Wallet).
2. In the start screen, the usually purple OneNote tile (about to be resized in the second screenshot, under Pretty Clock) is simply a transparent square.
3. Still in the start screen, the apps Alarms* (center) and Calculator (resizing) are icon-less and blank as well.
* However, the apps themselves still work just fine. Click their tiles or the (blank) icons in the app list, and they'll load and function normally. For example, the Alarms app in the center properly displays that an alarm is active (top, S'ha activat, in Catalan
) and what time it's gonna ring (bottom, 23:15).
Also, apps that have been customized with a user-chosen background image (e.g., Photos and the Me tile) still display the custom image in the tile, although still show up as nothing but grey squares in the app list.
Here's the full list of the apps affected so far:
Alarms, Calculator, Camera, Data Sense, Office, OneNote, People, Photos, Settings, Wallet.
All the others -- Store/Marketplace, Games, Music, Telephone, Internet Explorer, the HERE apps, etc., and the new Cortana are working normally and properly.
Do any of you guys have any idea of what might be going on?

System language: Catalan / Catal? (trying to learn it a lil =D)
Country/Region: United States (most of the time; sometimes Brazil or others)
Regional format: Portuguese (Brazilian)
Voice language: English (United Kingdom)
PS: I also have Glance Background and Live Lock Screen (both betas) installed; maybe that affects things too?
