Always Public Network??

I have the new January TP installed on a laptop and my Surface Pro 3. No matter what I do it seems the network location will always be 'Public'. I cannot get it to 'Private'.

There doesn't seem to be the way of turning sharing on as in previous version/Win8 with the new layout of the settings menu. I did find in the Devices, then Connected Devices, there is a change network settings link... but clicking it just greys everything out, it doesn't take you anywhere.

I've also tried modifying the Local Policies(gpedit.msc) for Network Location, but even that won't override it from public.

Anyone experiencing the same or have any ideas? Am I missing something?

I just went to network share center and clicked HomeGroup, than clicked the text that said create private network. Than click yes on the sidebar that comes up.

Perfect. Thank you. Don't know why no other way of changing to private worked(including the sidebar asking to turn sharing on when first connecting), but that did.

You can also adjust the setting Network List Manager Folder through the Local Security Policy....

Sorry I missed that, It will only show the Network you're connected to, if it won't change have Windows forget the Network and run through the process of adding it back.
