Okay so I do have some knowledge on the whole "knowing your way around a computer" type of thing. But for the life of me i couldnt find a fix to fix a problem i ran into using Win10 tp.

The problem i encounter was: After a reset/cold boot, my internet access became "limited". i tried troubleshooting the problem but even windows couldnt find a problem(oddly enough) but would sometimes come back with a error messages saying

"Ethernet" does not have a valid IP configuration!

Can someone help me find a way to fix this? i have already tried your ipconfig/ renew and all that good stuff with no lucky

Thankfully i had back up all my files and what not and was glad Microsoft put a rollback feather in the 9926 build(finally..) that was able to undo the problem i encountered on win10 tp build

Apparently no one here has the expertise on the idiosyncrasies of W10TP to be of any help. Including myself.

I would recommend contacting Microsoft to ask for assistance with this issue.

In Network and sharing center > Change adapter > your ethernet interface

What do you see when you click "details"

    Properties > IPv4 settings
Did you check the IP configuration for the interface, what is the IPv4 config set to?

I assume you provided feedback on this to MSFT as you agreed to do when you signed up for the insider program?

How do I send this problem in for review?

I currently dont have wins10 installed because of this problem

There is really no reason for this not working on W10TP is it works for you now. There's also really no way for us to try and fix it here unless you are running W10TP.

The feedback app is inside W10TO as well, so if you want this fixed you need to re-install.

netsh winsock reset catalog*(reset winsock entries)

I had that with a couple of network adaptors on earlier Win 10 builds.
Best/quickest fix is just to uninstall them from Device Manager and reboot.

Go to "Network and Internet" then "Change Adapter Settings" right click on the adapter that is experience the "limited" connection, and UNCHECK "Jump start Wireless filter driver" It fixed my problem with build 10130.

Two different computers, two tries at each using new drivers and lots of suggestions....no joy. Back to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 and everything works. Pity really as Win 10 looks good. But never again. Life is too short!

Oh MY GOD, Microsoft will never learn! Limited Internet AGAIN! It might come as a suprise to you guys, who inteligently avoided Windows 8 and are moving to Win. 10 from Win 7, that Limited acess is not a new issue, at all... There are multiple reasons why your internet might go into limited, but most common is the power management.
1 Go into your device manager and find your modem under Network adapters.
(It will usually have Wireless in it's name)
2 Double click it and go to the Power Management tab.
3 If checked, UNCHECK "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power"
4 Click OK, and close everything.
This has worked for me on Windows 8 and 8.1 well and I never had to reinstall drivers or anything else, however some people had to do that in addition. Since I never had to do that I don't know how, so I hope this works for you as I know it can be very frustrating.
So far on Windows 10 this has worked well, but I am new to win 10 and I can't guarante that the problem will not come back. If it does I'll keep you updated with the fixes I've tried.
How could Microsoft repeat the same mistake again?! Beyond bielief! F-ing rediculous! We need internet to work and to live, WHAT century is Microsoft in to by default have their software comand your computer to put the wireless adapter to sleep?! WTH Microsoft, WTF were you thinking?!?!?!

I'm experiencing it on my Surface 3. Occasionally wifi will not work out of stand by. Problem with this option is the wifi adapter can drain 10% per hour in sleep mode. It uses less power just turned fully on.
