    As told before which licensed version of Windows 10 you get does NOT depend on the version of the Insider Preview you are using. It depends on the licensed version of Windows 7/8.1 you own.

    Which I find interesting. Because if I only had, say, Win 7 Home on a PC and I've done a complete fresh install of 10TP then they're going to need some sort of additional validation check before issuing a key for 10. I've a good record of all my licence keys, but if others haven't kept a record then which way will MS go?

    Well in my opinion you are out of luck if you don't have your key or the version with the key installed on your device. And as described in my other post, the IP will stay IP you won't have a valid Windows 10 license from upgrading a previous W10IP version to W10IP RTM because its still a IP version. You know what I mean?
