Films and Tv app opening in full screen mode

I'm kind of surprised that this hasn't been reported yet

Everytime I open a video using the films and TV app, they always open in full mode - I'm seeing this on my surface 3 and on my work PC

I've checked for updates but there's nothing yet

There's a setting for full screen mode but it's off so I don't see why they would open in full screen when the option is off

Any ideas?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app from store. Don't worry, if you have signed in to a Microsoft Account, the videos you've bought won't be lost after you sign back in after reinstalling. Make sure you have open videos in full screen mode turned off in setting of Films and TV. Well do a restart when you reinstall and change the setting. If you don't mind, uninstall any other video players. If Films and TV is not your default video playback app, make it so. If it was your default, reverse this. Although you could always switch to window-ed mode by clicking on the exit fullscreen button when viewing a video.
