Just heard from a friend that he saw in some site that Windows 10 won't be available for his Lumia 630. I just want to confirm that.

I have a 1320 and I might get a 530. Does that mean that 530 wont get Windows 10? And 435 will get Windows 10?!

What kind of site stated that 630 won't get Windows 10? 512MB phones will be able to update to Windows 10. All of them. All Windows Phone 8 are able to update to Windows 10. Only carrier-exclusive phones are unsure, because they depends on carriers to get updates.
Btw, I don't think you should get a 530. 435 seems better.

Quoting Lumia Conversations here...

"Does that mean that today?s Lumia devices can be upgraded to Windows 10?

We?re making it as easy as possible to get Windows 10. Windows 10 has been designed to run well on today?s Lumia phones. Like any upgrade to a new platform, not every phone will upgrade or support all possible Windows 10 features, and certain features and experiences will require more advanced future hardware. Our goal is for the majority of the Lumia phones running Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 to join the Windows ecosystem along with an expected hundreds of millions of PCs, tablets and other devices running the next generation of Windows."

Now, where do I stand if I get a 512MB device?

I'm more curious how performance will be on 512mb phones running windows 10. They really just need to make 1gb the standard minimum for these devices.

Nope , You are Wrong the OS should be optimized for the Low end that is 512MB Ram Devices, So the OS can run Even More Effectively on ! 1GIG Devices !!

Microsoft would be digging their own grave if phones with 512MB of RAM doesn't get Windows 10. I, myself am waiting for the preview to be released on my Lumia 620. I just need an exact date for the release. 😁

Windows phone 8.1 doesn't exactly run butter smooth in 512 MB devices. The start screen tiles take a half second to load when home screen is prompted plus there is the odd loading or resuming screen with certain apps. There is a certain slowness even now with wp 8.1.1 between devices with 512 MB and 1 GB RAM. That is acceptable. I don't see why the current trend even if it traverses over to windows 10 would look half as bad on a 512 MB device.

The Windows Insider app says my Lumia 521 meets the requirements for an install. So I think you will be Fine. You could just wait and see. But 512 Ram will not be the reason I don't think. I would stick with 1Gb ram devices just so you could have more access to high end apps.

Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but when I hear all "modern" windows phones I don't think of new devices, I think of 1 GB devices. I think they will do a 7.8 type update for these devices. It doesn't make sense since these are the best selling, but when the 435 even came out with 1 GB, I think the writing is on the wall. I hope I'm wrong though.
