Windows 10 for phones in PFD:

So, the insider program for windows 10 on phones is scheduled to launch next month. Apparently windows 10 for phones is gonna be sitting in the insider program for about 6 months, that's keeping the validity of the windows 10 insider program deadline in context. So, hopefully, when will windows 10 for phones be available through the Preview for Developers? Since my daily driver is a 520 with no alternatives, not willing to dive into the insider program next month. Probability???

The answer to this question still has to be provided by Microsoft.

But windows 10 preview will be made available in February.

Re: Windows 10 for phones in PFD:

What we are getting next month is a true beta release of the OS. However preview for developers gives the complete build of the OS just before being passed on to the carriers, making it the final release your phone's gonna have if the phone is an unlocked version and truly reliable if your phone is a lumia as microsoft in most probability has tested the OS on your phone before passing it on to PFD.

Likely after an official release or close to it, even though it will be official in the fall it will still take months to trickle the update to everyone, especially cus of slow as heck carriers.

1 P4D will already give you OS updates "long" before it passes them to carriers. Not just before it passes the to carriers.
2 Also before you install P4D you get a clear warning that the updates may cause some issues. But basically the biggest bug are already filtered out.
One example of a bug in P4D was the automatically connect to a WiFi network which was buggy on P4D.
3 We still not sure how "stable" the windows 10 preview updates will be. So for that we need to wait for Microsoft but I guess the updates are not that buggy that the majority of the phones will get brigged. But than again you only get them if you sign up for it so it's your own decision.
