I've been thinking more and more about all the people complaining about carriers blocking upgrades. Perhaps my web searching skills suck, but I'm not seeing anything about how the upgrade will take place. Will it be like any other update that requires carrier approval? Will the Insider program bypass carriers and eventually be the official Windows 10 mobile RTM? I know when we went from Windows 7 to 8 and had the previews that the previews eventually died. I realize we are getting Windows 10 Mobile for free so there would be no need to essentially kill off functionality and force upgrades. I'm just super nervous buying a new Lumia 640 on a carrier (Cricket) with a terrible record of approving upgrades.

Any official words would be appreciated! Thanks!

It will work as usual :) Carrier approval will still be needed for those that are not participating with the insiders preview
