Howdy,

Is there any way I could update from 10051 to 10036 without having to use the recovery tool?

I haven't had Windows Insider offering me any newer build since I installed Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview 10.0.12534.59 (same as build 10051).

There already was 10080, now that there is 10136 but I am still not offered 10036 and still am sitting on 10051.

When I check the phone for updates, it returns:

Your phone is up to date.

Any clue?

TIA.

Build 10136 is only supported to update directly from 8.1 due to an update bug from 10080. You should only have to wait because the next build (if we are lucky in 1-2 weeks) should support it again.

How long have you not been offered 10080? It was only pulled a few days ago so if you are sitting with 10054 for a week or longer without updates you should check the Windows Inside App and if you are opted in the Fast Ring.

At the moment you can only upgrade to 10136 from WP8.1.
If you are running an older version of the W10 TP you will not be offered 10136.
Can I ask why you cannot use the Windows Phone Recovery Tool?

Ah, seesh, that's bad.

The reason is I am using Samsung ATIV S, with edited FlightID set to RM-1027_1007. If I reflash the phone with Recovery Tool, I will miss Windows 10.

Second, I still can't get Windows to backup my data. That's awkward. The autoupload feature works pretty bad: it does NOT reattempt to reupload photos/videos that failed to sync when you've made them. Finally you end up with desychronized photos.

I synched Camera Roll via File Explorer (formerly Windows Explorer) and ended up with 5,000+ duplicate files.
BTW, Recovery Tool does not support non-MSFT/NOKIA devices, AFAIR.

Thanks. Those days I resorted to reflashing the phone with DOC2 firmware...

Still sitting on Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 and fearing to upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile. If only recovering apps was so easy. Reflashing went quicker than it has taken to reinstall all apps and reconfigure all accounts. Dammit.

I read another one of your posts about the highly annoying "mobile operator" pop-ups. Were you by chance able to stop them? If so, please enlighten me... thanks.

I'm still sitting on 8.1 update 2 as well. The phone wants to upgrade to 10586.29 but I remain skeptical as to the outcome.
