Is backup working from 8.1 to 10 ?

Hello. I have a Lumia 930 running 8.1, switched to an Android phone... but will probably come back later with W10. My question is, will the backup made on my 930 work on the Lumia Windows 10 phone I'll get later ?
Or maybe I have to upgrade to W10 TP and do the backup... ?
