I have just updated my Lumia 635 from 10149 to 10166 and am now stuck without background or lock screen images. All I can select are my photos from OneDrive and even if I disabled OneDrive integration in Photos there are no pictures for me to select as background or lock screen image. Anyone else seeing this?

You have to upload your own?!? WM10 is in early stage of development and there are no any predefined backgrounds in the current build but there are couple of nice looking backgrounds from Microsoft that are equal to those on desktop version of windows phone 10.

Desktop:
Windows 10 Wallpapers - Album on Imgur
https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=c199...62&ithint=folder,jpg&authkey=!AF2sAMM8YQ_0iI8

Mobile (HD resolution at 1920 x 1080):
tap sys

Also there is a dedicated start screen customization so you should look there to get more walls and some Inspiring designs as well...

In case you have walls on your device but you can't access them with build in photos app you should find them through file manager and than from option menu chose either to set it is background or lock-screen...

lp,
Teo

Weird, thank you. I'm pretty sure there were backgrounds included in 10149, is it possible that I'm wrong here?

I was using my own photos from an sd card. Settings will see the photos only after opening them using The Photos application!??

Teo, I think you're right. I must've mixed things up here. I was convinced that something seemed off after the update and that it must've been the missing background. Either way I've copied a few pics onto the phone and am using those now. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Sure it sees photos but you can't access walls folder directly you are forced to search through collection view which consists of all of your photos, screenshots, etc sorted by date which is painful experience if you have several hundred of photos on your phone ....

I knew I wasn't crazy! I had to reset the phone just now and baam - there are 10 default Windows 10 backgrounds preinstalled on this device already, just like with 10149: http://1drv.ms/1JADZLZ
