This is old one.....
It's actually taking time to update user to user.
I've two YouTube account, and they both shows two different design language (older n newer one)
Also I've noticed that YouTube app on Android recently updated with new design.
Here you can see on Android app

And also in wp (edge) it follows the same UI as on Android app

Mine looks normal. Can't post a screenshot because my power button doesn't work (stupid 925), but it looks nearly identical to the pic you posted of the iPhone screen (except less Taylor Swift).

If Google really wanted to mess with Microsoft they'd either release a shoddy YouTube app on Windows Phone or do what they're doing now...nothing.
They wouldn't target a specific browser, especially one that's not even released yet (Windows 10 Mobile Microsoft Edge).

It's funny how you guys keep thinking Google would spend money making stuff to kill MS... The thing is, unlike MS, Google updates their stuff with big changes very frequently so things happen.

You are wrong, google are good guys now. Look that's the new YouTube mobile layout. The old one looks like it's made for wp7. This one looks like it's for android.

I have the new layout now. You have to clear cache and website data then log in to YouTube again. That's what happened to me

Google is not targeting Microsoft, they're not THAT evil. Just because they won't do anything FOR Microsoft doesn't mean they'll do something AGAINST Microsoft.

I'm not going to throw Google under the bus but I will say that their YouTube API changes they made a while back could be viewed was unnecessarily non Developer-centric. Doing things they know would give MS a hard time isn't a new concept. Are they 1995 MS? No. They certainly aren't the Ghandi of software giants either.

But all the available functions present in hamburger menu goes to that middle action button at the bottom (subscription)....

Actually, awhile ago they were embedding "no desktop" into the url automatically if you used IE on the phone even on desktop mode. If you removed the auto injected code the page would load fine both in desktop mode or mobile mode.

So I can totally understand where the OP is coming from.

However it does look the android version and Edge UI look almost on par, going to check myself and will post results.

Edit: Yup, even on ios its the same so looks like a widespread change:
Microsoft Edge:
wp_ss_20150723_0003.png

Iphone:
WP_20150723_19_02_11_Pro (2).jpg

Couldn't get hold of a Android phone, so checked my cousin's iphone instead.
